SO CHIC! Cool, Rosé ® is the product of an extraordinary red grape variety, the famous Cannonau, the oldest in the Mediterranean. It has been proven that the Sardinians were producing wine as far back as 3,200 years ago.
This Cannonau is the recognized ancestor of the famous Grenache, the base of the world's most renowned rosé wines, particularly those from Provence, world leaders in their category. Among its remarkable qualities, it is recognized as one of the most resistant to heat and drought, a key advantage for growing on a sunny island and a crucial argument in the face of the threat of global warming, which increasingly affects the planet every day.
Our SO CHIC !, made with Cannonau di Capo Ferrato grapes, grows in Castiadas, on the southeastern tip of the island, a vast area abandoned for 350 years due to malaria. The Italian government established the "Castiadas Agricultural Penal Colony" there, which for 75 years (from 1875 to 1952) undertook a massive reclamation project that transformed this desolate area. What was once a "hell" has become a true "paradise" for viticulture, agriculture, and tourism, with 300 days of sunshine, fertile granite soil, and a constant sea breeze. The area encompassing Castiadas, Costa Rei, and Villasimius has become world-famous and attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year who come to enjoy this "Sardinian paradise."
Our Cannonau di Capo Ferrato vineyards are surrounded by mountains, the "7 brothers," overlooking the sea. This unique position, exposed to all winds (sirocco, mistral, libeccio, grecale, etc.), gives the grapes their distinctive flavor and allows us to create a unique Rosé wine of rare elegance.
